Paris Opera x Silvère Jarrosson

Project background

"Opéra pour Bastille", created by Silvère Jarrosson, takes up residence at the heart of the Opéra Bastille in 2023, replacing Jean-Paul Riopelle's work while establishing a dialogue between the decades. In breathing new artistic life into this iconic venue, Jarrosson skilfully links Carlos Ott's original mineral and architectural aesthetic with contemporary waves of artistic abstraction, positioning himself in respectful continuity while offering a modern reinterpretation of lyrical and choreographic elements.

The realization

Installed in 2023 on three wooden panels within the panoramic foyer, this acrylic work uses paint movements, drips, and undulations to weave a vibrant homage to lyrical art. It combines tradition and modernity while enhancing the architecture of the Opéra Bastille with mineral colors and abstract forms.
