From February 10 to March 31, 2023, Studio Artera takes over the 10th arrondissement town hall for a contemporary art exhibition under the aegis of Alexandra Cordebard, Mayor of the 10th arrondissement, and the City of Paris. The aim is to take art out of its traditional exhibition context and place it at the heart of our society, as close as possible to the people of this diverse arrondissement.
Convinced that art has the power to bring communities together, and that it can considerably improve our everyday well-being, Studio Artera has called on several artists to offer the public new visual, sensory and aesthetic perspectives: Caroline Derveaux and Itchi in collaboration with one of the town councils most committed to providing access to art for all.
Caroline Derveaux is one of the pioneering artists of art in the public space, and in the way she transforms the aesthetics of cities. The artist's mission is to change our relationship with the urban environment by creating new forms of cohesion between residents, bringing people together around an aesthetic that is accessible to all, with a humanist approach.
Imbued with glamour, nostalgia and exaggerated aestheticism, Itchi's works tell us recomposed stories about pasts rooted in our imaginations. Much more than an ode to vintage, her work questions the traces we leave in time, and the collective heritage that is imperceptibly transmitted.
Combining ancestral and ultra-contemporary techniques, the "Nouveau(x) regard(s)" exhibition reinforces the dialogue between artist and city, between works and visitors, between the past(s) and what we experience in the present, in a tangle of emotions.
Studio Artera flies in the face of all clichés and determinisms, building new bridges so that everyone can access the talent and vision of exceptional artists.
