The world of contemporary art can often seem elitist and far removed from the general public, but the "Nouveau(x) regard(s )" exhibition proved otherwise. In collaboration with the Mairie du 10e arrondissement, Studio Artera presented works by Mathias Bensimon, Caroline Derveaux and Itchi to thousands of visitors. To celebrate the crucial role of art in society, Mathias Bensimon and the Altaïr collective created a unique, synesthetic performance in the heart of the town hall, involving several talented artists: cellist Yu Lin Humm, dancer Sahar Deghan, violinist Sylvain Rabourdin and singer-songwriter Louise Le Pape.
Mathias Bensimon has shown that art disciplines can be transcended to offer powerful experiences and bring together people from all social and cultural backgrounds. The "Nouveau(x) regard(s)" exhibition gave a wider public the chance to discover Mathias Bensimon's work, and to take part in a unique immersive experience during a one-off evening to round off his two-month presence in the heart of the 10th arrondissement.
Public institutions play a crucial role in promoting contemporary art, organizing high-quality exhibitions and cultural events to reach an ever-wider audience. Partners such as Lefranc Bourgeois are also essential in supporting artists and facilitating access to contemporary art for all.
Contemporary art can be a way of opening up our horizons and challenging our aesthetic ideas and representations. At Studio Artera, we are committed to forging ever closer links between art, artists and the general public through a wide variety of artistic activities.
