In the run-up to Christmas, we spoke to five inspiring personalities about themselves, their backgrounds and their selection of Studio Artera favorites they'd love to have under the tree.

How about a little introduction? 

My name is Marie-Odile and I'm Franco-Brazilian, currently living in Paris. I came here to study Art History at the Sorbonne and haven't left, at least not yet! I'm also known on Instagram as @imagine_moi, and it's thanks to my little baby that I'm currently self-employed in Digital Strategy and content creation for social networks.

Could you tell us about your first art-related memory?

There were always landscape paintings and copies of Renoir at home, because my paternal adoptive grandfather had been a restorer at the Louvre. I never knew him, but it was part of my world as a child. I loved drawing and painting, and was always encouraged by my mother to take up these activities, but without becoming an artist.

Which artists inspire you most? 

Artemisia Gentileschi - Zanele Muholi - Mona Hatoum - Kerry James Marshall - Bulle Derouette.

If you could define art in three words, what would they be?

Experience - Emotion - Reflection.

Which Studio Artera works are on your Christmas wishlist and why?

• First up is Béatrice Bissara's "Skin Sea#3", a magnificent organic rendering in which the pictorial material seems to breathe like epidermis. 
• In second place, I'd say Vincent Marcq's photograph "Ville 2.0 n°5". I like the clash between the "Life's good" message in neon versus the light and the hard, completely opaque cement material. It's the mix of textures with that dose of sarcasm that really appeals to me. 
• And my third favorite work is this "Intimité d'une féminité" by Raphaële Anfré, for its superb lines and fresh colors. Everything is delicate and frank at the same time.

If you could ask Santa for one thing this year, what would it be? 

Equal pay for men and women, but that's not going to happen any time soon! So, as I'm fed up with Picasso exhibitions, I'd say less Picasso exhibitions!
