Caroline Derveaux

Contemporary art for diversity and inclusion

A graduate of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and Chelsea College of Arts & Design, Caroline Derveaux is one of the pioneering artists of art in the public space and in the way it disrupts the aesthetics of cities.

Navigating between painting, design, scenography and art direction, Caroline combines bright colors with a geometric language and interprets her art in an abstract way according to her emotions, childhood memories and encounters. Her strength? The ability to move from canvas to public space. Her paintings are like bridges between memories of the past and the feelings the artist is experiencing at the very moment she picks up the brush, sometimes taking her back many years. Caroline Derveaux brings people together around an aesthetic that is accessible to all, with a humanist approach. Her frescoes are a surprise every time, and provide an opportunity to (re)discover the city through fresh eyes. The banal, the hidden, is sublimated.

Through her many works, Caroline Derveaux tells the story of the D.N.A. of the place where her work takes place, while imbuing it with her own universe brimming with diverse encounters, dreams and emotions. Whether for a capsule collection or a public art project in France or abroad, she is keen to offer residents or collaborators a dialogue around her art and her profoundly inclusive vision of the world.

In November 2022, as part of the FAMA (French American Mural Art) program supported by the American Embassy in France, she and artist Rex Hamilton inaugurated a 30m-high mural in Saint-Ouen to celebrate the inclusion of women in sport. In her drive to bring art to as many people as possible, Caroline Derveaux has also collaborated with Roland Garros, the French Tennis Federation, the Georges Pompidou European Hospital and the We Love Green music festival, as well as with renowned brands such as Adidas, Bombay Sapphire and the Hoxton Hotel, and has completed public art projects all over the world.

One of his latest projects is the creation of a mural for Visa France in front of 75 athletes from around the world to celebrate the Paris 2024 Olympics, an exceptional collaborative performance between We Are BMF at the Centre Pompidou.

Beauty through abstract art with Caroline Derveaux

The explosion of colors intertwined in an elegant geometry gives Caroline Derveaux's work its depth, its power, but also its singularity. This bold, sparkling artistic universe is equally at home in apartments, offices and large urban spaces, as well as outside, where art doesn't always make the cut. Caroline Derveaux creates colorful narratives that take the viewer into new worlds, where every motif, every shape has a message to decipher and ponder. As decorative as it is sensory, Caroline Derveaux's vision of contemporary art aims to bring people together, and to create abstract universes without frontiers, accessible to all, with or without artistic knowledge. In her creative process, Caroline uses mainly linen canvas and top-of-the-range colored pigments to guarantee maximum durability of her creations over time, without alteration. Caroline Derveaux's paintings are all offered framed in a beautiful American box made to measure by a Parisian framer.
