Born in 1993 in a small village in south-western France, Adeline Care quickly turned to the audiovisual field before graduating from the École des Gobelins. Devoting herself to the image in all its forms, she specialized in photography and began to make a name for herself with mystical, voluptuous, almost vaporous visuals. Her inspiration is rooted in childhood memories of the vast, mysterious forests of the Dordogne and winding valleys filled with tales and legends. Preferring argentic to digital, she won the Prix Picto de la Photographie de Mode 2019 with her sumptuous Aithō, je brûle series, some of whose shots are distributed exclusively and in limited editions by Studio Artera. Following the immense success of this series, she exhibited at Fisheye Gallery in Paris and then at 100% l'Expo at La Villette, among the brightest talents of her generation. The French photographer likes to create works that straddle the border between reality and fiction. It was when she discovered the basaltic landscapes of Mount Etna, and the impossibility of any form of life emanating from them, that she imagined what the extinction of the human species might be like.
Adeline Care travels the world with her lenses to photograph moments between two worlds, when reality gradually fades away to leave the field open to a sense of the unknown. In China, France and Italy, the photographer weaves permanent links with her own childhood and experiences to plunge viewers into an unreal aesthetic turmoil.
Adeline Care's works are as enjoyable as a new tale. Tinged with mythology and mysticism, they evoke the fragility of the human condition and the destructive power of the elements. Here, Nature has reclaimed her rights, displaying her original strength through a surreal palette of colors. Forged on the sharp slopes of Mount Etna, his near-lunar photographs show the gradual disappearance of Man in an environment as sublime as it is hostile. It's as if Dante's Inferno had crossed paths with Interstellar. These impressive visuals are an invitation to contemplate, at home or in the office, to take a few moments to recharge our batteries before the magnificence of this unpredictable Nature, which constantly reminds us that we are only guests on this incredible planet. To explore these universes, Adeline Care uses a wide variety of formats, from postcards to photographs measuring more than a metre in length, to offer the public the chance to appreciate the power of the elements from different angles.
Photographer and filmmaker Adeline Care divides her time between the hustle and bustle of Paris and the soothing landscapes of the South-West. In 2022 she will be at the Institut Français in Beijing in a group show - "Sight of Wind" and at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels - BOZAR - group show - "Émergences.fr". Her work is presented as part of the "Close-Up" exhibition organized by Studio Artera, curated by Elora Weill-Engerer, from January 28 to February 27, 2022.
In October 2022, she won a special mention from the jury of the Villa Noailles photography competition, before exhibiting her finest work at the BnF in the "La Photographie à tout prix" exhibition until March 2023.
